Canvas Project using my daughters senior picture and Graphic 45 paper!

Good Morning all! I just finished a canvas project that I really enjoyed creating! I bought a 4" x5" canvas which was already framed at my local Big Lots for $2. I inked the sides with Black Stazon because I didn't have black acrylic paint! I was worried about how it would dry, but everything worked out fine. I then went around the edges with gold acrylic paint. I used Graphic 45's Le'Romatique paper on the background of the canvas. I ripped a piece of the paper and tucked it underneath Brittany's picture and the Prima sugared flower. I put a piece of Webster lace along the bottom I then cut out a couple of the flowers and a stamp from the same paper line. I adhered the flowers to the picture, the stamp to the lace and added a small 7 Gypsies key on top of the stamp. All in all I feel like it looks pretty good. I am wondering if I should make it a little fuller here or there, but for now I am happy with the outcome! Thanks for stopping by!

Okay....I added some more Prima's to the canvas.  What do you think now?  Do you like the first one or the second one better?

Hugs,
Cheryl

Somer's page...

This is a 6x6 page and a tag that I made for Somer Renee Thompson. Somer was abducted while walking home from school one day last fall. She was walking home with her twin brother and a sister when she disappeared and was found dead a few hours later. Sarah (kaczsk - YouTube name) enlisted the help of the YouTube scrapbooking community to make a 6x6 page to be entered into a mini album for Somer's Mom. Somer's birthday is April 5th so Sarah wanted to give it to her Mother prior to that date. It is such an awful story. It is every Mother and Father's worse nightmare. I can't even imagine the pain that her Mother is going through! Our children should be safe to walk home after school, but sadly enough that just isn't the case in this day and age. My heart goes out to her Mother, twin brother and sister.

This is the back side...

This is the tag for Somer's Mother.

Please keep Somer's family in your thoughts and prayers!

My tags are complete!

Hi ladies! I have completed my tags for the tag swap. I had soooo much fun and I am so happy that I joined in on the swap. Like I said before I was a little anxious about it. I am for sure in on it next month if Louise decides to do another one. I made Louise a tag too, just to show my appreciation for hosting the swap. I am sure there is more work to it than meets the eye! So, thank you so much for hosting Louise! I have posted a picture and made a video (click on the link below to watch video) of the tags I made. As I have said before pictures just do not do these tags justice! You really can't see all of the glimmer that is on them. So, I hope you like my tags and I will be checking in later!

My very first tag...

Hi ladies!  I just wanted to show you all my first tag that I have ever made!  I made it a couple weeks ago now.  Not bad, I guess!  LOL!  I just started using Tim Holtz and Glimmer Mist products about 3 months ago.  I love, love, love them and I am a fan for sure.  I am still working on my tags for the tag swap.  I am loving every minute of it.  Have a wonderful rest of the day and I will be back soon!

Kim from Colorado was on the ball now I tell ya! It just officially started last Saturday and here it is only the following Wednesday and I have my tag! It is so, so, so beautiful! I love it! It almost looks water colored, it has small script on the top with a pretty ribbon threaded through the hole and attached to the ribbon is a small bird charm with the bird carrying a letter! OMG! It is adorable! Thank you so much Kim! I will treasure it forever as it is my very first piece of work from someone else! I am so glad I decided to join! I have 2 of my tags completed, but I am not sending them out until I have all 4 ready to go! Kim can be found at: SanguineScardeyCat.blogspot.com go check her out she is awesome!

Cheryl

PS:

Tag Swap Buddies!

If I had looked to see if I had any comments before I posted my last post...I would have known that I do know who 3 of the 4 ladies in my group are! I contacted Kim, Christine, and Tracey, but wasn't able to get any information on Donna. I will try to get hold of her first thing in the morning! Donna if you happen to read this post my blog name is: Scrappinonbutterflylane.blogspot.com so you can e-mail me through there!

Looking forward to this swap ladies!

International Tag Swap

Yay, I'm in! I am sooo excited! I don't know whose group I am in yet, but Louise sent me an e-mail saying I was in. Today my wonderful hubby put together 2 bookcases for my scrap room:). They have 5 shelves each and have so much more room than the small one I had. I have been busy moving things around, putting things up and throwing things away! You know the drill! LOL! I think I am going to call it quits for the night and start fresh tomorrow. I did get started on one of my tags yesterday. I haven't decided if I am going to make them all the same or different? Once I get this one done I will make my mind up! Maybe! It has beautiful in my neck of the woods, how about yours? I am so tired of winter! Okay, I'm gonna go chill with the hubby for the night now. Have a wonderful evening!

First Blog Post!

Okay, here we go my first blog post!  Please be patient with me as I set up my blog and make it more desirable to look at! LOL!  Wish me luck and hopefully I will have some cute mini's, tag's, ATC's or paper crafting projects that someone out there in blog land will like!

I started out scrapbooking making 12x12 pages and they just seemed too large for me so I started making 8x8 layouts. Then came the infamous mini that I am currently loving. I hope to get signed up for the international tag swap that Zettie Bettie from MyHuckleBerryFinn.blogspot.com is hosting. She is so talented and I love listening to her talk! I am a little nervous about it though as I have only made a couple tags in my life! So, we'll see how it goes!  I hope you check back and see how things are going!

Hugs,

Cheryl
